14. Whole Cloth Painting Botanicals – Susan Brubaker Knapp
Skill Level: Beginner

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of paint-ing on fabric to make whole cloth painted quilts. You’ll choose from one of my designs and use acrylic textile paints to create at least one small piece. Come let me teach you an exciting new way to make unique one of a kind original whole cloth quilts, quilt blocks and even miniature quilts.

Students will work on several different projects while in class. They will work on a miniature quilt using my laser cut stencil kits, create an original block or whole cloth project and experiment with several other creative ways to stencil wonderful designs. Students will learn the tricks for creating elaborate original design stencils. We will explore the design elements of pieced and applique blocks for stenciling, mix and match different designs for the perfect project. Experiment with colors and adding textures. Students will learn to create stencils from freezer paper and other products, apply stencil paints and heat set. We will talk about embellishments and quilting. Students can use their projects as a small wall hanging, placemats, table runner or pillows or the beginning of a large quilt.

16.  Felt Art-Darlene Christensen
Skill Level: Beginner
Do you like to make art quilts with different mediums? Use needle felting and finish a one-of-a-kind piece of art using wool roving. No sewing machine needed. Kit $15 (includes patented paper to make the process easier and faster).

18. Quilter’s House (wool hand project)-Connie Dilts
Skill Level: Beginner

This class will teach the basics of wool applique including the use of freezer paper, how to achieve correct placement of the wool applique pieces, the use of a variety of threads and hand sewing needles, and a variety of thread, basic embroidery stitches, and the use of beads. Finished size 6 ½” x 9″. $8 Pattern Fee. Kits available for purchase in advance $20.

19. Susan Garrity-Lircles
Skill Level: Confident Beginner

This original pattern is a modern mix of lines and circles (hence the name). The squiggly lines are inspired by the ski tracks so often seen in the winter. The sample uses hand dyed fabrics, but any fabric will work. The circles are machine appliquéd on the top. Each section uses a different quilting pattern for interest. The sections are machine stitched, using a turned under edge on a flat edge. New technique, new quilt, new fun!  Kit Fee: $10 – This is for a full-size reproduction of the pattern.  Supply List  Sewing Machine required.
