9. Potato Chip Quilt – Donna Toly
Skill Level: Beginner
What is a potato chip quilt? It is a quilt made from a pattern of blocks that use rectangles that are twice as long as they are wide. It is said to have gotten its name because, like potato chips, “they are so fun to make that you won’t want to stop at just one”. And Donna Toly should know because so far she has made 48 of them! It is an excellent scrap-buster quilt for the beginner quilter. When you take this class you will learn how to make a Shades of One-Color Potato Chip Quilt, but you will also leave with a booklet compiled by Donna containing at least eight variations on the basic pattern. This is a quilt that can become addictive for quilters who love to work with color and scraps.
