1.   Susan Cleveland – Piping Hot Binding
Skill Level:  Confident Beginner
Add spark and a professional finish to any style piece. Every detail of binding and tiny perfect piping will be covered in class with step-by-step demos and printed instructions. Machine differences will be addressed so students will be successful with their own machines. Students work on their practice piece to achieve making perfect piping,  preparing the quilt,  applying piping,  applying binding, mitering corners,  joining tails,  and finishing for a show-quality back. Variations will be on display and discussed. Many major award-winners are using this technique to achieve stunning results!

2.  Linda J. Hahn – Wicked Wahini
Skill Level:  Confident Beginner

Learn Linda’s unique technique for creating perfect New York Beauty blocks using just ONE PIN on your first attempt – with no puckers or cussing!  LOL!  Incorporate those blocks for a dynamic wall hanging.  This quilt looks just fabulous in any fabric combination – including batiks, holiday, Civil War, you name it!  Linda demonstrates how to create an optional miniature using the scraps and cutaways from the main design.

3.  Jane Sassaman- Suns & Moons
Skill Level:  All

Suns and Moons is a machine appliqué workshop based on the circle motif. Using Jane’s appliqué techniques and experimenting with our decorative stitches, we will begin by making a series of colorful fabric discs which will then be arranged into a dramatic and contemporary composition.

4.   Luanne Roberts – Learning Stitches Embroidery Sampler
Skill Level:  All
Come and learn one of the most beautiful arts, Hand Embroidery. This class will cover some of the basic stitches and make a beautiful sampler to use as a reminder when stitching other projects. The stitches that you will learn are the Back Stitch, Buttonhole Stitch, Chain Stitch, Colonial Knot, Feather Stitch, Fly Stitch, French Knot, Lazy Daisy Stitch, Outline Stitch and Stem Stitch. The kit includes everything, ready to stitch fabric, floss, needles, hoop and stitch guide. Please bring small scissors and extra lighting/ magnification if you need it. The finished size is approximately 15” X 15”.

5.  Katie Rapp – Free Motion Quilting
Skill Level:  All

A beginner-level class introducing quilters to free-motion quilting. Participants make simple placemats from scrap fabric strips and then quilt each individually with quilting patterns of their choice. This is a low-stress way to get a feel for moving a quilt under the machine, and to try new quilting patterns, big and small.
One-Day Class to be offered on both Thursday and Friday.

6.  Lauren Rogers – Star Baby
Skill Level:   Confident Beginner

If you have wanted to make a Judy Niemeyer quilt, this is a great beginner project.  It will show you how Judy organizes her patterns and the easy way she makes a lone star.  This will set you up to continue with other patterns that use the lone star pieces in them.  Finish it with or without a border and use it for a wallhanging, tabletopper or a baby quilt.  Finished size is either 32” square or 40” square.

7.  Jennifer Golden – Clothesline Bowl

Make a fun and beautiful bowl using scrap fabrics and clothesline.  A sewing machine with a zig zag stitch is needed.

9.  Josy Daniel – Introduction to Studio 180 Deb Tucker Trimmer

In this class you will be introduced to Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design techniques and her Tucker Trimmer tool. Deb has designed her tools to help the student who is not perfect at cutting, sewing, and pressing to be able to construct block units accurately.

10.  Daenette More – Sunset Blooms.
 Skill Level: Confident Beginner

This quilt, made with a panel fabric, is a beautiful rendition of Dresden plate blocks with a window lattice and cornerstones. The Dresden blade template is included in the pattern. Let’s transform some of those old panels in your stash or this year’s newest ones into a stunning quilt.

11.  Linda Cover – TLC for Featherweight Sewing Machines
Skill Level:  All  
This workshop includes every facet of care and maintenance for your Singer Featherweight sewing machine.  Bring your working machine to class to clean, lube and adjust.  Save costly repairs.  We will cover proper threading, bobbin winding, tension adjustments, oiling moving parts and lubrication gears and motor, belt adjustment or replacement, light bulb replacement and proper sewing techniques.  Belts, cords, cushions for machine and pedal, LED lights, oilers and other parts available in class.

12.  Terri Lange – Tips, Tricks & Tools for The Confident Beginner

Skill Level:  Advanced Beginner

This class will look at tips, tricks and tools used in creating to finishing your quilting projects, large or small. We will briefly cover color, fabric, sewing, measuring, assembly and resources to create wonderful love-filled gifts to keep or give. This class is recommended for everyone looking to improve quilt-building skills. Bring your questions.
