1.   John Flynn – Arabic Lattice
Skill Level:  All

This is an unusual, yet easy block, which works up nicely in plaids, scraps or bright colors. John teaches a quick way to string piece partial seams. The block is rotary cut with a template and students have the option of the tessellated set or an “offset” set.   As seen on HGTV’s “Simply Quilts”.

2.  Linda J. Hahn – Wicked Wahini – THIS CLASS IS FULL AND CLOSED
Skill Level:  Confident Beginner

Learn Linda’s unique technique for creating perfect New York Beauty blocks using just ONE PIN on your first attempt – with no puckers or cussing!  LOL!  Incorporate those blocks for a dynamic wall hanging.  This quilt looks just fabulous in any fabric combination – including batiks, holiday, Civil War, you name it!  Linda demonstrates how to create an optional miniature using the scraps and cutaways from the main design.

3. Lea McComas – Play Date with Color and Composition
Skill Level:  All

Spend a day in guided exploration of concepts related to color and composition while creating a series of fiber art cards, approximately 4 x 6 inches, that can be stitched at home and given as postcards, framed as small works of art, or kept for future reference and inspiration. Together, we will experiment with a variety of color schemes, combined with value, line, repetition, shape, and texture. This is a cheap date as you will be working with fabric scraps, trims, and decorative papers from your stash at home. Arrive ready to laugh, share, create the unexpected, and go home with new treasures.

4.  Lauren Andrist – Panel One Block Wonder – THIS CLASS IS FULL AND CLOSED

Advanced

Combine your love of a favorite panel with the unique look of the one block wonder hexagons.  Seven panels will be needed, you will cut six and then arrange your hexies around the center, or off center, of your remaining panel, for a fun and unique look.    

We will spend two days designing your new quilt top.  I have taught this a few times, and have learned some short cuts to speed up the process, by the end of the second day, you should have your top laid out and probably sewn.

5.  Josy Daniel – Beginning Quilting 2-Day
Skill Level: 
Beginner Only

This class will teach the beginning quilter about fabrics, supplies, how to cut, sew and press accurately.  Students will make units and learn to join them into a 20″ star table topper.  

This class is offered to beginning quilters only.  Students under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.  Students must bring their own sewing machine to class.  Supplies will be furnished.  There will  be no charge for the class but students must pay the registration fee listed on the registration form.

6.  Robin Reilly – Teeny Tiny Truck Collage (2-Day)
Skill Level:   All

Designed by Laura Heine.  Finishes at 16″x20″  This is a hands-on workshop. Learn how to paint with fabric with an easy-to-follow pattern.  A fun way to create, have fun, meet new friends, and learn how to make Laura Heine applique collage quilts with the expert, Robin Reilly!  Sewing Machne not needed.

7. Micki Chappalear – Long Arm Lap Quilt

Students will make a lap quilt, pieced, quilted and bound on the longarm. This class is super fun .  Students will leave with an almost-finished project.

8. Marianne Ballash – Triangle Techniques
Skill Level:   Confident Beginner

There are endless uses for “flying geese” and “half-square triangles” in quilts.  Come learn several different construction methods for each of them.  You will master how to calculate the fabric needed and cutting instructions for any size of finished blocks.  We will talk about which methods work best for different block sizes.  We will also cover how to get matching corners and sharp points.  We will work on perfect ¼” seams and practice squaring up your blocks using different rulers.  Have fun working on these skills while constructing a beautiful Christmas or fall table runner measuring 22½”x48½”.  You may also bring your own fabric to practice the techniques to use in other projects. 10.  Daenette More – Leaves

This Leaves quilt pattern will blanket your home with the fine fallen foliage of autumn. This fun scrappy colorful quilt focuses on the techniques of making flying geese, the Stitch-and-Flip method, and working with mirrored images.

This pattern is fat-eighth and fat-quarter friendly as well as an easy candidate for stash reduction!  Finished Size: 66 ½” x 76 ½” .

11. Janet Hoxie – Mystery Quilt

Everybody loves a mystery, and this one is no exception. Prepare to be mystified, and then amazed as you create a special quilt, table runner, lap quilt or wall hanging. Instructions will be provided for all sizes up through king. Once the mystery is revealed, full instructions will be provided to complete the quilt at home or at your next retreat. Full fabric selection/preparation/cutting instructions will be provided to students in advance, so that we may begin as soon as class starts.

Updated Supply List 2.5″ strips are the only precutting required before the class.

Even if you don’t like camping, you will love this pillow!! The kit includes EVERYTHING!! The kit has all the wool, all the #8 perle cotton thread, needles, beads, flower buttons, and fabric to make the pillow, piping, the most adorable owl buttons and even the pillow form. You will learn how to combine simple embroidery stitches to add even more cuteness to this project. Just bring scissors and extra lighting if needed.

13.  Lauren Rogers – Circles and Squares
Skill Level:  Confident Beginner to Intermediate

Such a fun technique for making a special quilt using Shannon Cuddle (Minky) fabric. You will learn techniques for working with this plush fabric to make things easier. You can mix flannel and minky for the next quilt you make using this pattern. Lots of tips and tricks will be discussed for students to become more confident working with Cuddle. This sturdy caddy has lots of easy-to-access pockets and dividers to hold and organize  supplies.  Outer pockets provide easy access to tools and a zippered pocket keeps personal items secure.  Expanding dividers on the inside organize larger items or collapse flat, affording a wide-open interior.  This is a great organizer to place next to your sewing machine with all your tools, next to your ironing station with all the ironing supplies or in the living room to organize TV remotes and other clutter. Learn how to do routine care and maintenance on your Featherweight sewing machine. Bring your working machine to class to clean, lube and adjust. We will cover proper threading, bobbin winding, tension adjustments, oiling moving parts, lubrication of gears and motor, belt adjustment or replacement, light bulb replacement, and proper sewing tips and techniques.
