13. Piecing Improvisational Curves – Karen K. Stone
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and above

If every straight line is identical, every free curve might be considered unique. What curves do you naturally cut? Let’s explore that, and learn to piece them beautifully so your work will press perfectly flat.

14. Stitch by Stitch – Susan Cleveland
Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Machine sew tiny blocks stitch-by-stitch while creating a precious quilt. Lots of machine skills are covered such as stitching with heavy thread, couching ribbon with thin thread, applique with thin thread, and embellished prairie points. Work from a kit to avoid the drudgery of finding supplies. This class is best suited for patient quilters who are thrilled with details! 10″ quilt, 2″ blocks on point.

15. Pets Fabric Collage – Jane Haworth (2 Day)
Skill Level: All

In this 2-day class students will learn to enlarge a photo of a pet to about a 20” size design. Using a variety of fabrics we will trace and fussy cut these fabrics and apply in my raw edge fabric collage technique. I will give guidance on stitching and finishing the quilt. A close up of your pets face probably works best. I will give guidance on making the enlargement approx 200% before the class which will be used as the pattern.

18. Mystery – Deb Kipp (2 Day)
Skill Level: Confident beginner

This mystery quilt is by Pat Speth of Nickle Quilts and the name is from one of the characters in a series of 29 “The Cat Who” books by Lilian Jackson Braun. I would suggest that the lap size quilt is the one to work on for this mystery quilt class so a large part of it can be completed.
SOME PRE-CUTTING IS REQUIRED.

19. Wind Drifter – Lauren Andrist
Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Wind Drifter is a fat eights or a fat quarter friendly pattern, using half square triangles and rectangles to form an eye catching pinwheel.  Wind Drifter goes together very quickly, and you can make either a 65” x 65” throw or a 32 1/4 “ x 32 ¼” wall hanging or table topper.  Both sizes use the same number of half square triangles and rectangles, and can  very easily be completed in a day.

21. Wildflower Seeds Wall Quilt – Marianne Ballash
Skill Level: Intermediate

This is one of my favorite quilts ever.  It’s fun to put the pieces together and create the flowers.  Many different fabric choices make beautiful combinations.  Create your wildflowers from your favorite prints, the newest batiks or anything you like. This is a great way to use up your favorite scraps.

We will learn to make “Stitch and Flip” pieces quickly and accurately to create wildflower quilt blocks.  Try out a “Sew Straight Template”, “Seams Sew Easy” guide and diagonal seam tape to discover your favorite method of accurately stitching from corner to corner without having to mark lines on your fabric.  We will learn how to construct small pieces and sew them together precisely.  Get tips for pinning and pressing seams for more perfectly matching patchwork.
